Seasonal Variations and Long-term Trend of Mineral Dust Aerosols over the Taiwan Region

چکیده

Atmospheric dust aerosols are known to affect the air quality and public health as well climate weather systems. An increasing number of modeling studies have related ice nucleation with concentrations particles a diameter larger than 500 nm (ND,d>500nm). In this paper, seasonal variation, vertical properties, long-term trend ND,d>500nm over Taiwan region analyzed, using simulations from global chemical transport model size-resolved particle microphysics. Over Taiwan, shows bimodal variation distribution two peaks in spring (March–May) fall-early winter (October–December). different seasons, varies by about one order magnitude summer (0.06–1.23 cm–3 boundary layer, 0.03–0.55 middle lower troposphere, 0.006–0.03 upper level). Vertically, profiles show unimodal distribution, highest appears at ~1 km decreasing altitude. From surface high levels, frequencies intense events decrease fall (September–November) increase months (June–August). The results suggest strong event annual mean last decades. 1999 2018, days decreased 40–43% 37–54%, respectively, under 4 km, decline is weaker higher altitudes. analysis suggests that these trends caused declining Asian emissions.

Assessment of carbonaceous aerosols in Shanghai, China: Long-term evolution, seasonal variations and meteorological effects

Carbonaceous aerosols are major chemical components of fine particulate matter (PM2.5) with major impacts on air quality, climate change, and human health. Gateway to fast-rising China and home of over twenty million people, Shanghai throbs as the nation's largest mega city and the biggest industrial hub. In a continuing effort to pursue economic growth, haze-plagued Shanghai also spearheaded C...

Long-term and seasonal variations in CO

As atmospheric emissions of S have declined in the Northern Hemisphere, there has been an expectation of increased pH and alkalinity in streams believed to have been acidified by excess S and N. Many streams and lakes have not recovered. Evidence from East Bear Brook in Maine, USA and modelling with the groundwater acid-base model MAGIC (Cosby et al. 1985a,b) indicate that seasonal and yearly v...

Study of seasonal distribution of dust in the Middle East region using CALIOP and MODIS data

Aerosol optical depth in 550 nm and angstrom exponent measurements with MODIS have been studied with 1-degree resolution for the period 2006-2017 in the middle east. Moreover, tropospheric aerosol optical depth and depolarization ratios measured at 532 nm with CALIOP have been studied for same area and same period of time too. These parameters have been classified seasonally. Optical depth resu...
